Lotta returns to her hometown to work as a doctor in the local hospital only to learn that you are not respected as a very young physician. But this is not the biggest problem, because of her seriously ill father, the family business is threatened by insolvency.

Lotta's friend David returns from India and they move in together. While David soon gets a good job, Lotta questions the decision and their relationship.

Lotta wants to study medicine which is not an easy task, being a single mother and having a baby daughter. She has to learn to cooperate with other people in order to fulfill her desire.

Lotta, a woman in her twenties, wants to be an actress but hasn't really matured yet. When her father threatens to stop his financial support for her, she starts an internship in a retirement home.
